DEMOTIVATIONAL POSTERS

After years of criticising quasi-inspirational wall art, I felt it was time to create some prints for those of us that find motivation in the more realistic and melancholic. Sadspiration™. The depressed-est merch in the biz.

£12.00 (or £30 for 3-part set)
A3 (11.7 x 16.5 inches)

‘Haters’

If you’re sick of hearing rappers and sports heroes brag about how they turned criticism into success by harnessing the energy of spite

If you feel like the only person who responds to criticism by feeling worse about yourself, on account of it absolutely sucking to be criticised

If you happen to have plenty of drive to prove doubters wrong but are yet to turn that into any tangible achievements

Well, this is the poster for you.

“The haters made me what I am today - insecure.” was a line in Rhys’s debut solo stand-up show ‘Begins’, featured in the poem ‘What I’ve Got’.

A3 (11.7 x 16.5 inches)

‘AMBITION’

If you've ever seen a print in a friend’s house about how important it is to work hard, but you know them to be a useless, lazy worm

If you’ve ever wondered why you never see posters about determination and ambition in the labs and workshops of inventors and geniuses

If you find someone asking you to give 110% annoying, not just because it’s impossible, but because even 85% is a bit
showy-offy, no?

Well, this is the poster for you.

£12.00 (or £30 for 3-part set)
A3 (11.7 x 16.5 inches)

‘DREAM’

If you’ve ever wondered what it might have been like to have financial freedom to develop creatively

If you’ve ever felt patronised by wall-art encouraging you just stop dilly-dallying and just GO FOR IT as if you ever have spare time to do anything but scroll a social media site that’s actively making you sad

If you’ve ever read an article in the Guardian, written by someone complaining about the very socio-economic problem that got them their job

Well, this is the poster for you.

This was the original tweet that sparked this whole project off.

‘watermelon’

This poster is from the 2016 show ‘Forgives’, in which I lay into the quote ‘Life Is About The Journey, Not The Destination’ as seen on a poster at a friend’s house. Towards the end of the show, I rewrite this to be about watermelon, in relation to another routine about cherries. This sparked an on-going rage towards prints featuring inspirational phrases that led to the creation of this store 4 years later. The poster appears at the very end of the recorded Soho Theatre special, available on Amazon Prime.

This poster was designed by Jack Walker.

‘WIPE’

This poster references my, and history’s, best ever joke, also featured in the 2016 show ‘Forgives’. It can be seen in isolation here, or in greater context here. It is the most important quote of a generation and must go on my gravestone.

I am trying to decide if I think you would be insane to buy this or insane not to.
